Vis-NIR

• Device Name: Visible-Near Infrared Spectroscopy (Vis-NIR)
• Device model: NIRS XDS
• Made by the company: Metrohm Switzerland
• Operator: Fateme Mokhtarian
• Scientific supervisor of the device: Dr. Maryam Tohidi (Member of the
Faculty of New Technologies of Shiraz University)
• Time of use: all days of the week except holidays

  • Description:
  • Important features of the central laboratory NIR device:

1- NIRS XDS device of the Central Laboratory can be used in the range of 400 to 2500 nm of electromagnetic waves. This device has two different modules for studying solid and liquid samples. With this device, a lot of valuable quantitative and qualitative information can be obtained from the samples.

2- With this device, solid samples such as tablets, capsules, coated tablets, gelatin capsules, powder materials, granules, films, sheets, pastes, etc. can be studied in appropriate cells. In some cases, sample analysis can be done without opening the lid of glass and plastic containers. The analysis of solid samples is done based on the amount of light reflection in the range of 400 to 2500 nm.

In the analysis of liquid samples, the amount of light transmission is measured in the range of 400 to 2500 nm with glass or quartz cells. In this case, the sample chamber with the ability to control the temperature also provides suitable reproducibility conditions for the analysis.

3- This device can be used for studying the structural characteristics of small and large molecules - quantitative and qualitative measurements of petrochemicals, polymers, paint and wood, food and drugs.
